Ullal: Accused in Target Ilyas murder case brutally hacked to death

Ullal: In a shocking incident that occurred late on Sunday night (August 11), a group of assailants brutally murdered Shamir (35), a resident of Ullal Kadappura. Shamir, who was accused in several cases including the murder of Target Ilyas, was chased down and killed with a sword near the VK Furniture building behind National Highway 66 in the Ullal Police Station limits.

The incident took place when Shamir, who had come to a restaurant in Kallapu with his mother and family members, was attacked.

As soon as Shamir got out of the car, the gang that had been following him attacked him with a sword. Realizing the danger, Shamir attempted to flee, but the gang of five chased him for about 500 meters from the Kallapu Junction to the area behind VK Furniture, where they caught up with him and killed him with a sword.

During the incident, locals, along with the police, searched the area but were unable to locate either Shamir or the gang. The police later found Shamir’s body.

The situation became tense as a crowd gathered at the scene, and the police struggled to control the crowd.

Target Ilyas Murder Accused

Shamir was the second accused in the 2018 murder of rowdy-sheeter Target Ilyas. The murder took place at an apartment in Jeppu, where Dawood, Shamir, Riyaz, Shamir Kadappura, Abdul Khader, Umar Nawaf, Mohammad Nazir, Naushad, and Azgar Ali had allegedly conspired to kill Ilyas.

Investigations revealed that Dawood and Shamir had directly entered the flat and murdered Ilyas. Shamir was later jailed in connection with the case.

Shamir was also accused in more than nine cases, including a shootout at a chikki stall in Pandeshwar, assault, and robbery. He had been released on bail just two days earlier in connection with a robbery case. The Ullal police have begun an investigation into the murder.
