Ullal: Woman killed after being hit by car while crossing road

Ullal: A woman lost her life after being hit by a car while crossing National Highway 66 near Adamkudru here on Monday evening.

The impact caused the car and another overtaking vehicle to skid off the road and overturn into a roadside ditch.

The deceased has been identified as Baby (65), wife of Krishnappa, a resident of Sevantigudde. She owned a shop in Adamkudru and was crossing the road to reach her job at an apartment complex in Pumpwell when the accident occurred.

The two cars were reportedly speeding from Thokkottu towards Mangaluru. One of the cars, attempting to overtake the other, struck the woman.

A case has been registered at Mangaluru South Traffic Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
