The distance between these stations is 1.98 km and the work assumes significance as it plays a pivotal role in connecting two railway zones.

Furthermore, a separate allocation of Rs 1 crore has been made for the Mangalore Junction – Panambur section patch doubling work and another Rs 1.2 crore has been set aside for the completion of the remaining work on the Netravati Cabin-Mangalore Central track doubling.

The remaining amount has been allocated to complete the pending works of additional platforms at Mangaluru Central Station. While the construction of the additional platforms 4 and 5 have been completed, works on foot overbridge and a shelter are to be undertaken.
