Uppinangady: Man transfers money via NEFT; loses Rs 1,82,000

Uppinangady: A man in Uppinangady lost Rs 1,82,000 after he transferred the amount to a virtual account via NEFT.

The complainant, a farmer of Puttur taluk Bajattur village had entered into an agreement with  Impact Guru Technology Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, as part of a home construction project. He had also opened a virtual account in a bank.

In the meantime, Sachin, an employee of the company asked the complainant to transfer Rs 1,82,000 to his (complainant’s) virtual account at Kotak Mahindra Bank.

He transferred the amount via NEFT and it showed that the money was deposited in the complainant’s bank account.

However, when the complainant checked his bank statement, he found that the virtual account was in the name of Sandesh Murugan, and the money he transferred was deposited in Murugan’s account.

Following this, the victim filed a police complaint and investigations are underway.
