Earlier the Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association had demanded a revision in the service charge from Rs 100 to Rs 300 citing the “huge expenses” required towards investing for cold chain, storage and other needs.

In its letter, PHANA also pointed that the disposables needed for the jabs as well as the disinfection protocols of the vaccination site and PPE kits for front-end personnel would add to their costs.

Taking to Twitter, Deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayana said that the government has consented to cap service charges of vaccine administration at Rs 200 per dose and directed hospitals to abide by the guidelines
