Vijayapur: Miscreants brutally attack guard, rob house

A house guard was brutally attacked with a handgun during a robbery in Mahaveera Colony, Vijaypur. The assailants, three in number, reportedly broke into the residence of businessman Srikanta Tosniwal on Friday.

Srikanta Tosniwal, who was away in Dharwad to attend a relative’s wedding, left Gulab in charge of guarding the house during his absence. The perpetrators, wielding a weapon, violently assaulted Gulab, causing a serious injury to his neck. Subsequently, the assailants ransacked the house before making a swift escape.

The injured house guard, Gulab Mohammad Mujawara, was rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Upon receiving the news, the police promptly reached the crime scene to initiate an investigation.
