Vijaypura: Newborn baby found abandoned near canal

Vijaypura: A newborn baby was found abandoned near a canal in Balagnur village, Talikote taluk in Vijayapura on Thursday.

The baby was found wrapped in a large cloth. Locals after hearing the cries of the infant immediately alerted the police officials.

The baby is likely to be a few weeks old and has now been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A case has been registered and investigations are underway.
