Addressing presspersons during his village stay at Kodangayi, Villa Padnur Rajendra said that the village stay is the project of the state government in which 90% of problems will be solved on the spot.
Village stay is being conducted in the district for clearance of encroached land and if government land is grabbed, it will be recovered. Nearly 70 applications were disposed of in Beltangady before village stay. The survey is required for 20% of applications. Most of the applications are about BPL ration cards, Sandhya Suraksha, pension to specially-abled, widow pension, Manaswini Maithrayi, etc. Those will be inspected,” said DC.
Further speaking about the Kerala-Karnataka border Rajendra said that Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod have the highest amount of communication and Covid tests are not being performed on all the state boundaries. Therefore, entry to Karnataka is allowed only on four main roads. Necessary precautions are being taken there.

He further warned, “Harassing senior citizens for government schemes is not right. Efforts to avoid the involvement of officials and make the amount reach the bank accounts of beneficiaries are in progress.”
