Speaking to reporters in Mangaluru, Eshwarappa reiterated his stance on use of loudspeakers during Azan. Many people are suffering from Azan on loudspeakers and the Supreme Court has ruled against it, he said and called on Muslim leaders to review the use of loudspeakers during the Azan and make a decision based on the interests of the broader community.

“There is no dispute about the Azan issue. I have not insulted any religion, I have not insulted Allah. But someone should have spoken about it and I did. That is the common man’s opinion, and I have expressed it,” Eshwarappa said.

The BJP leader also highlighted the party’s achievements in passing laws against cow slaughter, triple talaq, and religious conversions, among others.

He also accused Congress of cheating minorities and backward classes.
