VTU engg students can opt for dual degrees soon

Bengaluru: The Visvesvaraya Technological University will start dual degree courses from this academic year.

All engineering students will be given an option to pursue another degree course relevant to their first degree course for an additional two years or three years for a second course not related to their first course.

So if civil engineering students choose environmental engineering as second degree course then they will have to study for two extra years and if they choose computer science engineering then they will have to study for three more years.

This system is being implemented because core subjects in related courses are the same.

Officials at the university said that only approvals are pending for the dual degree system and they are sure to introduce it this year.
