The Indian government has also announced a red alert against this ransomware and is asking people to take the necessary steps from their end.

Following the centre’s order, hundreds of ATMs across Bengaluru remained closed for the second day due to possible virus attack by WannaCry ransomware.

However, ATMs with Microsoft’s Windows 10, were not affected.
Cash crunch at treasury offices of state-run banks also forced the security staff to display ‘No Cash’ or ‘Out of Order’ signboards at their ATMs across the city and shut them from operating.
