Who is Harpreet Singh, India’s First Ever Woman to be CEO in Airline Industry?

Harpreet A De Singh has been appointed as the CEO of Air India’s regional subsidiary Alliance Air, becoming the first woman to head an Indian airline. She is currently Air India’s Executive Director (Flight Safety).

Singh was appointed as the first woman commercial pilot of India in 1988. However, due to health reasons, she had to leave her flying job. Since then, she has been active in other areas of aviation including flight safety.

According to Shethepeopletv, She is the first woman chief of flight safety in India and also the first woman head of quality management systems in an airline

In January 2020, Singh was rewarded with the prestigious Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Excellence Award for “Outstanding Personal achievement and Distinguished services to the nation.”
