Will Nalin Kumar make Legislative Council entry?

As the Legislative Assembly begins the process of selecting members for the Legislative Council, Bengaluru is abuzz with speculation regarding the possible candidacy of former BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel for the vacant upper house seat previously held by Kota Srinivasa Pujari.

Pujari, who is currently representing Udupi-Chikkamagalur in the Lok Sabha will have to vacate his position in the Parishad if he secure victory in the upcoming elections.

Additionally, the name of former National General Secretary C.T. Ravi has emerged as another contender for the position.

Proponents of Kateel’s candidacy highlight his organizational prowess during his tenure as state president, commending his commitment to party discipline even amidst challenges faced by the government. Amidst the deliberations, there is also speculation surrounding the possibility of nominating Kateel for a Rajya Sabha membership, further adding to the intrigue surrounding the upper house race.
