Will the food become harder to digest if Indira canteen is named after Annapoorneshwari?: CT Ravi

Mandya: BJP national general secretary, C T Ravi on Wednesday said that changing the name of Indira canteen will not change its purpose of providing food to the poor.

Speaking to the reporters, Ravi said, ” I have spoken about changing the name of Indira Canteen and naming it after Goddess Annapoorneshwari. Annapoorneshwari is a part of Goddess Parvathi. We will soon take a decision after holding discussions with the concerned.”

Will the food become harder to digest if Indira canteen is named after Annapoorneshwari?” he questioned.

“Several schemes have been named after a single family. Also, Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi honoured themselves with the ‘Bharat Ratna’ whereas Dr B R Ambedkar was given this honour after Atal Bihari Vajpayee mooted the proposal when V P Singh government supported by the BJP was in power at the centre in the year 1989-90,” he stated.

Talking about the Mekedatu project, Ravi said, ” We will make sure that the problems of the people of Tamil Nadu will be addressed. As per my opinion, the drinking water project will not be blocked,”
