Mysuru: At a time when a rowdy sheeter sharing dias with BJP leaders has raised debates, a rowdy-sheeter staged a unique solo protest in Mysuru on Saturday.
Manju alias Panipuri Manja, was seen in front of the Gandhi statue in the city, holding a placard in Kannada that read, “Dear BJP, I am a rowdy-sheeter. Will you give me a place in your party?”
The police rushed to the spot and took Panipuri Manju into custody as soon as they came to know about the protest.
For the unversed, BJP leaders in the state sharing the stage with history-sheeter ‘Silent’ Sunil, has elicited sharp criticism, especially from the opposition Congress.

BJP’s Bangalore Central MP P C Mohan, Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya, Chickpet MLA Uday Garudahar, and Bengaluru South BJP president N R Ramesh among others, on November 27, were seen at a blood donation camp with notorious rowdy sheeter Silent Sunila.
The Congress, in a series of tweets, had accused the ruling BJP of having links with criminals and asked Home Minister Araga Jnanendra whether he had prevented police from taking action.
Following this, BJP went into damage-control mode. BJP state president Nalin Kumar BJP state President Nalin Kumar Kateel said that history-sheeter ‘Silent’ Sunil will not be allowed to join the party.
“Notorious rowdy ‘Silent’ Sunil has no place in BJP party. I’m aware that some of the party leaders attended the program organized by him. The party will ask those leaders for an explanation,” Nalin had said.
