Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the party had given 10 guarantees to the people of Himachal Pradesh during the election campaign, the first of which was a decision to implement the old pension system for government employees. Keeping to the promise, a decision to restore the Old Pension Scheme was taken in the first cabinet meeting, he said.

Further, he said that the decision to implement the old pension system for government employees was taken with a humanitarian perspective to ensure that their retirement life is comfortable after serving for 30 years.

Sukhu stated that there are winds of political change in Karnataka, and people who are dissatisfied with the corrupt government of the BJP have made a decision to elect Congress to power. He mentioned that the Congress party is committed to fulfilling 5 guarantees made to the people of Karnataka once it assumes power.

He accused the BJP of using ED and IT attacks to intimidate the opposition. He urged voters in Karnataka to give the Congress party a majority that is strong enough to prevent the BJP from stealing MLAs.

Congress leader Alok Sharma said that the Congress party has only promised to “ban organizations that disrupt communal harmony” in Karnataka. However, he accused the BJP of spreading slander that the “Congress plans to ban the Bajrang Dal.” Sharma, further, questioned the move by BJP to ban Sri Rama Sena in Goa. “Isn’t that an insult to Lord Ram,” he asked.
