With $8 bn valulation, Byju's now India's 3rd largest unicorn

Bengaluru: Learning technology startup Byju's has become India's third-largest unicorn (startups with $1 bn valuations) after funding from American hedge fund Tiger Global Management. This new round of funding has made Byju's valuation at $8 billion, after epayments provider Paytm ($16 billion) and hotels chain OYO ($10 billion). According to filings, the companies revenue in the financial year 2019 was over Rs. 1200 crores and in the preceding year was Rs. 460 crores. The company plans to start an online tutoring program after starting a product for early learners this year.
