Woman constable receives 4 gold medals and 7 cash prizes from Mysore varsity

Chamarajanagar: A woman police constable at the City Armed Reserve, Kaveri, has made the remarkable achievement of earning 4 gold medals and 7 cash prizes from Mysore University on completing her Economics degree.

Kaveri joined the Chamarajanagar District Police on August 24, 2020, as a constable. Later she was stationed at the City Armed Reserve.

She is currently undergoing training at the police training school in Mysuru.

Kaveri hails from Koodlapur village of Nanjangud taluk in Mysuru district. Her family is involved in agriculture on a small landholding.

Kaveri studied in the Government First Grade College, Nanjangud. She passed her final BA examination in Economics in May 2019 with the highest grade.

She also came first in the entire Mysore University scoring 910 out of 1000 marks.

District’s Superintendent of Police Divya Sara Thomas had felicitated Kaveri in her office for her achievement.

Commenting on her achievements, Kaveri said, “Looking at the financial situation of my family, I felt a desire to study and get a good job. So I studied diligently. I received the reward for my hard work. I got the highest score every semester in economics which is my favourite subject. My financial situation is not very good, so employment is very important to me. I will continue in my post in the Police Department and will appear in the Departmental examination to become a Sub Inspector.”
