Speaking to the media on Saturday, he said “”I have been a chief minister candidate for 15 years and I will not deny any opportunity that comes my way. But it’s good not to have hopes”. The former minister said that he would not contest in any constituency other than his home town Mandya. “The people of Mandya helped me win by 42,000 votes. I will not run away and even if I do, I’ll be called a coward,” he said.

The actor also gave a positive review on the Supreme Court verdict on the sharing of the Cauvery river waters. “It is after many years there’s a verdict that is in our favour,” he said.

“The verdict has given our state and the farmers’ happiness some extent.”

The former Union minister also said he and his actor-wife Sumalatha will offer ‘bagina’ to the Cauvery waters at the KRS dam on Monday.
