The day started with Yoga, where experts from the division of Yoga, CIMR, MAHE taught a few asanas to the people and also told them about the importance of Yoga. Then the formal inauguration took place. Present at the inauguration were, Udupi MLA Mr Raghupathi Bhat, Additional Deputy Commission of Udupi Mrs Vidya Kumari, Pro-Chancellor, MAHE Dr H S Ballal, Dean of KMC Manipal Dr Pragna Rao, District Governor of Lions Club International District 317C Dr Tallur Shivaram Shetty and Assistant Governor Rotary International District 3182 Dr Ganesh A.
Trained students of KMC and other MAHE Colleges gave hands-on training in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on mannequins provided by Laerdel Global Health to a large number of people, including students from other schools, who were present to learn and know about the technique.
The faculty of Manipal College of Nursing faculty also showed people how first aid like splinting, bleeding wound, etc can be provided in case of an emergency. At the end of it all, there was the demand for more such training camps from the participants. As for the organizers, it was a step towards building partnership between medical personnel and the community to work together in building good emergency services in our district.
