Yadgiri: Surgeons remove 300 grams hair from girl's stomach

Yadgiri: A rare surgery was performed at the VBR Mudnal Hospital here where a team of surgeons removed 300 grams of hair from the stomach of a young woman.

The 16-year-old girl from Chittapur Taluk was hospitalized with a stomach ache. On scanning, the presence of a lump in her stomach was detected.

On July 17, the surgery was conducted on her and the lump of hair was removed by a team of surgeons led by Dr Veerabasavanth Reddy.

The girl had been eating her hairs from a very young age until the age of 13. The lump was the collection of the hairs.

The girl had skipped eating lunch due to the stomach ache she was suffering due to the accumulation of the hairs in her stomach.
