Your Honor is an Indian adoption of the 2017 Israeli series "Kvodo". This series is about a Judge Bishan (Jimmy Shergill) who is known for taking rigorous judgments and is expecting a promotion soon. He gets involved in a hit and run case by his son Abeer (Pulkit Makol) who escapes from the crime scene in his car. He takes some complex decisions violating the law and tampers the evidence to save his son. He takes the help of a CRPF officer Kashi (Varun Badola) to help displace the car. Kashi asks his relative Gunjan to take the car, However, Gunjan gets caught by the police and goes into custody on a car theft case. When police learn that the car Gunjan had stolen is the same car that was involved in a hit and run case, Bishan appoints a lawyer Roma (Parul Gulati) on the side of Gunjan. While identifying the victim of the accident, police find out that the victim is the son of a gangster in the city and his family members try to take revenge on Gunjan. What happens when the gangsters find who the real culprit is? Will Bishan get away with the crime? One has to watch the show till the end to know this. Jimmy Shergill is brilliant in the role of a judge in which he is forced to get his hands dirty to save his only son. This is one of the roles that show many contradictions in a man and Shergill performs this role with utmost conviction. Mita Vashisht as a police officer with a sense of self-preservation is the star of the show. She manages to pull off various shades of her role with ease. Another character who was really impressive was Parul Gulati. Even though her role seems like a dumb lawyer, she plays the passive narrator who makes the audience think about what might come next. There are 12 episodes in Your Honor and each episode has a runtime of 30-35 minutes. Even though the series has a lot of stunning performances with a gripping story, there are few characters and subplots that drags the series. The makers could have easily avoided them. There is a saying “patience is a virtue” and Your Honor is a slow burn. This will be a treat to watch for those who have the patience to sit back and watch this drama unfurl in the end. You can stream this series on Sony Liv.
