Youth arrested for alleged abduction, rape of minor

A man in Malagi village was arrested on charges of abducting a minor and allegedly committing rape.

The accused has been identified as Kirana Hirekanagi, a resident of Malagi village.

On September 13, the father of the minor student filed a report with the local police station claiming that his daughter, a minor, had gone missing from their residence.

The student had purportedly informed her family that she was heading to college in Malagi village, but she did not return home.

Promptly launching an investigation into the matter, the police took the youth into custody for questioning. Subsequently, a formal complaint was registered against him under the provisions of the POCSO Act.
