The police have made elaborate security arrangements in the area to prevent any unpleasant incident in the wake of protests by the Congress workers. A group of congress workers also shouted slogans against BJP leader Yeddyurappa for his inaction to put pressure on BJP led Centre to waive farmers loan in nationalised banks in the state.

Earlier, BS Yeddyurappa urged the state government to waive farmers loan and accordingly Karnataka government waived loans obtained from state co-operative banks and other financial institution in the state. However, at present BS Yeddyurappa has remained silent on his assurance that the Centre would waive farmers loan in nationalised banks once state government waives farm loan issued cooperative banks in the state.
