Kasaragod: A youth league worker who just go released from incarceration was brutally murdered along Adikadali beach road in Kannur on Monday night at around 10:30 pm. The victim is identified as Rauf alias Katta Rauf (30), residing at Vettilapalli Al Amin Quarters in Kannur city.
The victim was accused in connection to the daylight murder of a SDPI worker and was released from jail around 10 days ago.
Rauf was riding pillion on the motorbike being ridden by his friend Farhan. The duo were on their way to Rauf’s brother’s home. Farhan has informed that the gang was hiding and laid in wait to carry out the attack. Rauf was stabbed and his limbs were chopped. Farhan managed to escape from the attack.
Police have registered a case 12 persons in this connection. Rauf was accused in the murder of SDPI branch president Farooq from Kuvalat on the morning of Aug 13, 2016.
