The incident had taken place on Tuesday. Few youths raised pro-Modi slogans and obstructed former chief minister Siddaramaiah’s campaign rally at Yeshwanthpur.

Enraged over this, Siddaramaiah telephoned Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Panth and said that the police on duty have turned mute spectators. Soon after the call, the police intervened and allowed Siddarmaiah’s motorcade to complete their campaign.

On Wednesday morning, Congress leaders from Yeshwantpur lodged a formal complaint accusing former BJP corporator Venkatesh and his supporters of obstructing the rally.

Based on their complaint police arrested Venkatesh. He was later released on bail.
