Bengaluru: Days after resigning from the chief minister’s post, BS Yediyurappa who just returned after vacationing in Maldives has bought a Toyota Vellfire, a high-end, seven-seater luxury vehicle for Rs 1 crore.
Notably, this happens to be his first car. Until now the BJP veteran was using his official vehicles and his son BY Vijayendra’s car before that. As per the affidavit filed ahead of the 2018 Assembly polls, he did not own any cars.
Before tendering his resignation, Yediyurappa had vowed to work to bring the BJP back to power in the state. The Vellfire, with recliner seats, has been bought to ensure comfortable travel while the former CM canvasses for BJP in the state for the next Assembly election, said a source.
Earlier in the 1980s, Yediyurappa used to ride around his home district on a bicycle, promoting the party. At that time, the Karnataka Assembly had only two BJP MLAs, including him.
