Exam without invigilator; new initiative by a college in Brahmavar

• 19 students take part in the initiative

Brahmavar: During a time when educational institutions come up with detailed plans to curtail malpractices during examinations, Crossland College in Brahmavar has come up with a new initiative allowing students to opt for an examination hall without invigilators.

This new opportunity was availed by 19 students of the college who were called by the principal and the idea and system of this novel scheme was laid before them. All the volunteering students promised to be self vigilant and honest at the examinations.

“I feel proud to have made use of this opportunity. I am happy to be considered an honest and sincere student by everyone,” said a final tear student. More students are expected to take part in this process from the next examination on wards.

Prof K K Gurumurthy, associate professor in History, said that the general feeling of the students was that this exercise made them write the examination without any fear, made them more responsible and sincere. They felt happy that the principal and teachers trust them fully and that itself is the greatest motivation for them to face the world with confidence.

Another student said, “Writing examination without invigilator is an amazing concept. When I came out of the examination hall, I felt that it is really a challenge for a student to prove her sincerity to herself.”

“This was the first time I wrote an exam without an invigilator. This time I was able the concentrate fully. It was a good experience. The environment was also calm and quiet. There was enough time to think and concentrate while writing the answers. It helps one to be sincere in future,” observed another student.

Pursuit of inculcating moral values in our students

Principal Prof Samuel K Samuel said, “We have been toying with this idea for some time and I feel extremely delighted that 19 students came forward immediately after the information was passed on to them. We are in pursuit of inculcating moral values in our students and this is another attempt towards it, as envisaged by the founder of the institution late Dr C T Abraham.”
