Excise Department seizes liquor and vehicles worth Rs 5.50 lakh

Belgavi: Excise Department sleuths conducted raids at two places in Hukkeri taluk and seized Goan liquor being transported illegally in a car and scooter. The total value of the seized liquor and the two vehicles is estimated to be around Rs. 5.50 lakh.

Liquor measuring about 20 litres, Honda City car and Honda Aviator bike were seized by the department.The raids were conducted and the accused nabbed after the department received a definite tip-off that tree persons were transporting liquor illegally in a car and a scooter.
