Facebook creates new unit devoted to payments

Facebook has created a new unit devoted to all its payments-related projects into a new division called Facebook Financial.

According to Forbes, The new division will be led by David Marcus, co-creator of its Libra cryptocurrency project

It is said that the group will focus on initiatives like WhatsApp payments, Novi digital wallet and Facebook Pay, a feature the firm plans to build inside all its apps.

Facebook claims that it wants to empower people everywhere to send money to each other however they choose, debit, credit or Libra digital currencies.
