The deceased has been identified as Manjunath, aged 38, a money lender. He had given a plot land near Nelamangala on rent to Altaf and his two sons for running a scrap yard. Altaf failed to pay rent even though the family earned well. Tired of this, Manjunath had warned of evicting them.
On January 24, Altaf called Manjunath and asked him to meet him in an area saying he wanted to pay the rent. Manjunath went to meet Altaf at the said spot when Aaltaf’s son attacked Manjunath from behind with an iron road. Manjunath died on spot. Then they severed his head with an electric saw and buried it in the land. The body was dumped in a drain in Kengeri.
Manjunath’s wife complained to the police about her husband’s disappearance. The Nelamangala police arrested Altaf and his sons. They are now searching for Manjunath’s torso in the drain.
