The Karnataka government on Monday claimed that it has not violated the Mahadayi Water Dispute in response to Goa Water Resources Minister Vinod Palyekar’s statement that Karnataka violated the Tribunal order. The government said that the allegation made by the neighbouring state is vague and that the petition should be dismissed.
In the affidavit, Karnataka stated that the tribunal has not restrained from the construction of the ongoing works of the interconnecting canal. Karnataka has also told the tribunal that ministers and officials from Goa are visiting the project site without seeking permissions.
Looking for the discharge of contempt petition filed by the Goa government, Karnataka said Goa filed this petition to create a intolerance to the case of Karnataka at the crucial stage of final hearing of the case.
