At the point when Siddaramaiah was the deputy chief minister of the state in 1997, this episode purportedly happened. A RTI activist, Gangaraju, had recorded application in the city civil judge (second division) court here, blaming Siddaramaiah and others for having conferred abnormalities in the said case. He had said that Siddaramaiah alongside the then director of MUDA and authorities were included with this case. The concerned have been accused of illegal obtaining of property, formation of fake records, treachery and demonstrating dismissal to laws regardless of being government servants, under various segments of Indian Penal Code.

The court, which heard the appeal, had instructed the police to enroll FIR against Siddaramaiah, former director of Mysore Urban Development Authority, C Basave Gowda, D Dhruvakumar and current official, P S Kantharaju, on June 18.
