The police registered the FIR under Section 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) on Friday against Dr. Guru Prasad and Dr. Rajesh of Vydehi Hospital.

The complaint was lodged by Rukminiyamma, aged 45. Her son Manjunath (25) is a wall painter in Kalyani Nagar in Chickmagaluru. Manjunath was admitted at the Vydehi hospital as he was suffering from a severe headache. The doctors advised him to undergo a surgery after finding out that there was a clot in his brain. The family was financially weak and they were forced to borrow money for the surgery. Manjunath underwent the surgery which was performed by Dr. Guru Prasad in February 2017. Manjunath was discharged a few days after the surgery.

A few months ago Manjunath again suffered from headaches and this time it was worse. They consulted different doctors and one of the doctor said that a piece of his skull was missing. Rukminiyamma returned to Vydehi hospital to ask for an explanation. She alleged that the doctors told her that they had thrown the missing piece of skull in the dustbin.
