Five held for throwing pork pieces in Jama Masjid premises

Byndoor: Byndoor police arrested five persons, who allegedly threw pork meat into the Jama Masjid premises near Kirimanjeshwara here with the intent of creating communal clashes.

Naveen Kharvi, Raghavendra Kharvi, Sridhar Kharvi, Ravichandra and Nagaraj, all residents of Byndoor are the arrested.

On January 14 night, two persons arrived on a bike and threw pork pieces into the premises of the Masjid before fleeing the scene. The incident came to light on January 15 when a man had come to offer namaz at the mosque and a case was registered at Byndoor police station. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera. 

SP Laxman Nimbargi had formed a special team comprising ASP Kumarachandra arrested the culprits on Sunday, January 20. Kundapura DySP Dinesh Kumar, Byndoor circle inspector Parameshwar R Gunaga, Byndoor PSI Thimmesh BN and others to arrest the accused.

Police mentioned that the accused had planned to create communal clashes through their act.

SP Lakshman Nimbargi has announced Rs 10000 reward to the team.
