The officials of wildlife sanctuaries stated that the number of people who illegally visit wild sanctuaries in the state has been increasing sharply along with their illegal activity including drinking, taking bath, cooking and others in recent years.
The forest department has already noticed people entering into wildlife sanctuaries including Nagarahole, Bandipur, Cauvery, protected zones in Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and others to spend their leisure. Ignorance of such visitors finally results in a disaster. Also, each penetration of outsiders into a wildlife sanctuary disturbs the ecological balance of the region indirectly.
Speaking on such incidents, Kanakapura local forest officer Chandranayak said, the state government should implement strict rules and regulations against the intruders or those who violate rules and regulations of implemented to conserve the forests. The number of wildlife attack victims is on rise in Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Kuduremukha and other protected forest zones, the officer added.
