Rasheed made these allegations at a press conference held in Mangaluru on March 10, where he stated that the election was held illegally, despite an ongoing court case. He also claimed that a meeting was held by breaking the lock and entering the office, and despite filing a complaint with the police, no FIR was registered.
Rasheed further accused two groups of colluding to hold illegal elections in the Dargah and expressed concerns that the current developments have created a state of conflict. He alleged that the pressure from Waqf State President Maulana Shafi Saadi and the conspiracy of some influential people is behind this.
Treasurer U.K. Ilyas, Arabic Trust Secretary Asif Abdullah, and members Farooq Ullal and K.N. Mohammed were present at the press conference in support of Rasheed’s claims.
