Foul play suspected; Shiroor seer’s brother lodges police complaint

Udupi: Lathavya Acharya, brother of Shiroor Math seer, has lodged a complaint with Hiriyadka police station alleging foul play in the death of his brother, the Seer on Thursday, July 19^th.

In his complaint, Lathavya alleges that the Shiroor Math seer Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji has been murdered by poisioning. He also demanded a high-level probe into the Seer’s death.

Hiriyadka police have registered the case and is conducting further investigation.

On July 19th, Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji died after a brief illness and his death is suspected due to poisoning, according to the Math sources.
