G. Parameshwar calls for stringent steps to manage toxic air pollution

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwar said that we need to follow strict norms to control air pollution failing which the future generation would suffer.

After inaugurating the first official meeting of the new C-40 City Air Quality Network, a global effort to tackle air pollution in urban areas across the world, here, Parameshwar said the government was committed to implement a robust air quality management plan for the city by providing both financial and government resources.

The set up will bring together experts and policy makers from cities around the world to develop solutions to air pollution.

Representatives from Berlin, Chennai, Dar-es-Salam, Delhi, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Portland, Quito, Salvador, Tel Aviv and Warsaw attended the meeting besides those from Bengaluru and London.
