Ganesh Chaturthi 2020: K'taka govt allows placing idols in public with restrictions

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has on Tuesday, August 17 issued guidelines on the celebrations of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival falling on August 22.

Following are the guidelines from the State Government on celebrating Ganeshotsav in the State:

– Celebrations can be done inside temples, public places (streets, front yards, public ground etc.) and houses with less public.

– The height of Lord Ganesh idol in public places should no be more than 4 feet and 2 feet at home.

– Only one Ganesh pandal will be permitted per ward.

– Public Ganeshotsava organizers should not allow more than 20 people to the pandals at a time.

– No cultural program should be organized in the Ganesh pandal.

– No public processions are allowed while buying and installing private Ganesha idols or while immersing the idols in wells

– Lord Ganesha idols installed in homes on must be immersed in the same premises and Public Ganeshotsava organizers must immerse the idols within the locality.
