Similarly, the way a person walks (their gait) gives insight into their mind. When we say, “His behavior is not proper,” it also means “His walk is not proper.” If the behavior is wrong, the walk will also reflect that. The phrase “Look at how he walks” conveys the same meaning. People choose colors based on their mindset and disposition. The phrase “His true colors are revealed” originates from this very idea. The clothes a person wears reveal their character.
In the Bhagavad Gita (4-13), Krishna says, “Chaturvarnyam Maya Srishtam Guna Karma Vibhagashah” (I have created the four varnas according to qualities and actions). Here, Lord Krishna refers to color as an expression of one’s nature (Swabhava). It means that one’s nature is reflected in the colors they choose. White is a symbol of purity (Sattva). The Pandavas’ intentions, too, were sattvic and pure.
