The protest, held on Saturday, was marked by chants of “Go back Modi” as the protestors voiced their grievances over what they perceive as the government’s failure to provide adequate relief aid for floods, droughts, and other crises plaguing the state.
Ivan D’Souza, a former member of the Legislative Council, lambasted the Modi administration for allegedly withholding tax revenues owed to Karnataka, resulting in a staggering loss of Rs 45,000 crore in state revenue.
D’Souza further criticized Modi’s timing, questioning the Prime Minister’s motives for visiting the state amidst ongoing challenges such as droughts and other pressing issues. He asserted that Modi’s visit appeared to be politically motivated rather than driven by genuine concern for the welfare of Karnataka’s citizens.
