Government issues passenger guidelines as domestic flights may resume soon

The Airports Authority of India issues passenger guidelines as there is a possibility of resumption of domestic flights soon.

AAI tweeted saying, “With the possibility of resumption of domestic flights soon, the AAI has released some steps that must be followed so passengers are fully geared up while travelling.”


As per the guidelines, Passengers above the age of 80 years will not be allowed on flights, other passengers will also not be allowed to carry any cabin luggage.

The passengers will also have to ensure that the check-in baggage weighs not more than 20 kilograms during the first phase of resuming flight operations.

Only those passengers will be allowed into the airport premises whose flights would be scheduled to depart in the next six hours.

The guideline also mandates:

All passengers must compulsorily download the Aarogya Setu app

Passengers are requested to do a web-check in and carry a print out of their boarding pass before heading to the airport to catch a flight in order to avoid possible transmission of the Covid-19 virus through papers,

All the passengers must maintain a distance of four feet from co-passengers

Passengers must wear a mask and other protective gear

Passengers would be permitted to take up to 350 ml of hand sanitiser on a flight.

Travellers are suggested to wash or sanitise their hands frequently
