Mangaluru: "Governor has violated the rule of the constitution and has invited Yeddyurappa to form the government," said MLC Ivan D'Souza at a press conference here on Saturday, July 27.
"Congress is mulling to approach the Supreme Court, if chief minister (CM) B S Yeddyurappa continues in power after proving his majority on the floor of the house. Supplementary points are being collected in order to approach the court against this decision. A discussion is held in this regard with the KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao. Congress party is going to take a clear stand on this," informed the MLC.
Revenge politics by BJP
"B S Yeddyurappa has resorted to revenge politics from the moment he assumed the chair of CM. He has written a letter to the chief secretary to withhold the decisions on transfers and administration-related matters that the former CM Kumaraswamy took at the end of his tenure in July. This letter is written to the chief secretary by Yeddyurappa, when he was assigned CM. This is against the constitution. If he had written this letter after taking oath as CM, it would have carried weight. This is a clear evidence of revenge politics," claimed Mr D'Souza.
"If the BJP governments stalls the various Bhagya plans and developmental programmes that were undertaken during the tenure of Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy governments, then Congress party is going to protest during the assembly session as well as outside," he warned.
Dengue outbreak
"Separate wards are opened in government and also in private hospitals in Mangaluru in the wake of wide-spread dengue fever. I have discussed this issue with the DC on Saturday," said Ivan and requested the private hospitals to offer free treatment for people affected with dengue.
