Udupi: “Governor of Karnataka is also involved in the BJP plan,” said former MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake addressing District Congress Committee members who staged a protest in front of Martyrs’ Memorial Ground at Ajjarkad here on Wednesday, July 10.

The protest was staged against BJP accusing the leaders of BJP of luring Congress MLAs in the name of ‘Operation Lotus’ and killing democracy.

“Everything is happening according to the plan hatched by BJP national president Amit Shah, under the guidance of Narendra Modi and Piyush Goyal. BJP is thinking that there will be no opposition in the administration,” said the MLA.

“BJP is engaging in horse trading. It is spending thousands of crores for attracting Congress MLAs. They have arranged a separate flight for the defected MLAs to go to Mumbai. BJP is thinking that whatever they are doing is right. No one will oppose their act. They are adopting a wrong path to destroy the government. So all these activities of the BJP should be stopped and they should think about saving democracy,” said Mr Sorake.

“There may be differences between government and MLAs. Still I hope that all rebel MLAs will come back soon. Speaker has asked some time for solving the problem. Let him take a right decision,” he concluded.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress leader Nagesh Kumar Udyavar said, “BJP is criticizing and going against democracy. Modi is following fascist policy. There is always hidden agenda behind BJP’s activity. BJP leaders are creating anarchy situation in the country.”

“There were cases of rape and crime reported from Puttur. Their own right wing boys are involved in the crime. But all the BJP leaders are silent,” he pointed.

“We also oppose all 15 Congress and JD (S) MLAs, because they were lured by BJP. There is a hope that they will come back by changing their mind,” he hoped.
