Governor's speech in Assembly bundle of lies: BS Yedyurappa

Bengaluru: The BJP on Monday lamented that Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala’s speech to the joint session of the legislature was mum on the farmer loan waiver by the JD-S-Congress coalition government. 

BJP’s state unit president and opposition leader B.S. Yeddyruappa in a statement here said “The governor’s maiden address to the fifteenth newly constituted meeting has disillusioned a huge number of farmers over the state as they were seeking after a confirmation on the farm loan waiver in it,”

Naming the Governor’s address a heap of lies and bogus claims of the coalition government, Yeddyurappa said the tone of the discourse showed that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy was  doubtful of his survival owing  to huge discontentment in the Congress on supporting the JD-S, which won just 36 situates in the May 12 assembly election. 

In the 225-part member hung assembly, including one named, BJP has 105 seats and Congress 79, with two seats empty and one each with BSP and KPVP. 

Shielding the Governor’s address, a JD-S official revealed to the media that the Chief Minister would declare the farm loan waiver on July 5 when he introduces the state budget plan for financial 2018-19 alongside other welfare plans and projects. 

“As farm loan waiver is a part of the budget proposals, the Governor’s address can’t have such policy choices. It is the Chief Minister’s privilege to announce on the floor of the house as a major aspect of his budget speech,” said the party official, leaning toward secrecy. 

On the BJP’s other charge that Vala’s speech did not have the projects and approaches of the past Congress government, the authority said the Governor was tending to the joint session of the new coalition government. 

“Where is the requirement for the Governor to allude to the past government’s welfare plans or projects as he was tending to the new government, in which the Congress is a collusion accomplice,” stated the JD-S official. 

“Vala’s address shown that the present government has no regard for the Congress supporting the JD-S-drove government,” tweeted Yeddyurappa. 

“The development of the post-survey unholy cooperation is a joke of the people’s mandate at the hustings. The general population have been mute witness to the power- hungry ministers lobbying for portfolios with a crippled Chief Minister, said another tweet from Yeddyurappa.

Taking note of that a unstable government was an unmistakable indication of fizzled attempts to diffuse the crisis, Yeddyurappa said as a mindful resistance, the BP would remain by the public and uncover the corruption of the coalition government.
