As part of the Police Memorial Day, the CM paid tributes to the martyred cops at the Martyrs’ Park on Mysore Road and said that the police system works to enhance the dignity of the state and the government. He said that there is a direct relationship between development and law and order.
Where the law and order is adequate in the state, more capital is invested. This will increase job creation and speed up development. As a result, the per capita income of the people of the country will also increase, he said and called for the police department to strictly maintain the law and order of the country.
As technology advances, the police system faces new challenges. Cyber crimes are increasing along with cyber technology. Steps are needed to stop this menace, he maintained.

“Action should be taken against those spreading fake news. False and hateful news is harmful to the country’s GDP. As a result of the unrest, the per capita income of the people is also affected,” the Chief Minister said and suggested that strict legal action should be taken against the websites that spread fake news and those who operate them.
Underlining that there is a need to enhance the safety and security of women, children, and senior citizens, Siddaramaiah said “We have started additional women and traffic stations… Rs 100 crore will be given to the police for the purchase of new vehicles.”
The CM also announced that Rs 450 crore will be spent on constructing 2125 police accommodations, Rs 100 crore on providing for the health benefits of police personnel. Seven police public schools are being started in 7 districts for the education of children of police personnel. “Through these measures, our government is committed to providing quality education,” he said.
On this occasion, Home Minister G. Parameshwara, Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Naseer Ahmed, Chief Secretary to the Government Vandita Sharma, State Director General of Police Alok Mohan, and heads of various departments of the Police Department paid floral tributes to the martyrs. Tributes were also paid to all the defense personnel and officers who were martyred across the country in the last one year.
