HDD to contest from Tumakuru LS seat

Hassan: Putting an end to the suspense Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy announced on Friday, March 21 night informed that JDS supremo and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has decided to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from Tumakuru Lok Sabha seat.

Addressing party workers here Kumaraswamy said that his father HD Deve Gowda is more likely to contest from Tumakuru Lok Sabha seat. 

He further added that the Congress-JDS coalition candidates will campaign across the state by highlighting the development works being taken up since his government has come to the power.

If certain sources are to be believed HD Deve Gowda will be filing his nominations papers on Monday, March 25.

However, an official announcement is awaited.

On the other hand, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President Dinesh Gundurao said that his party wants JDS Supremo HD Deve Gowda to contest elections from Bengaluru North constituency.

“I spoke to Deve Gowda ji and requested him to contest from Bengaluru North constituency… Congress has five and JDS two MLAs, who can ensure his victory,” he told.
