The students had been suspended earlier this month allegedly for wearing the hijab in the class room, despite repeated warnings by the college authorities to inform them that their conduct was in violation of state government and High Court’s orders.
Apart from these six students, the College management had suspended 24 girl students for staging a protest demanding permission to wear Hijab inside classrooms on Tuesday, June 7. These students reportedly skipped attending classes.
With 46 of the 101 Muslim girl students attending class by abiding to the uniform dress rule, the college faculty has expressed hope that the attendance will likely improve from Thursday.
