Housing for poor on city's encroached land: Yediyurappa

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Yediyurappa said that encroached land in the city will be seized by the government and houses for the poor will be built on it.

The chief minister was speaking at the National College ground, where an event for the distribution of title deeds to about ten thousand beneficiaries under the ‘Akrama Sakrama’ scheme was organised.

The chief minister further stated that a committee has already been set up to reclaim all land in the city that is illegally occupied.

Meanwhile, Revenue Minister R Ashok, said that soon Aadhaar card will be linked to the old-age pension scheme which will result in only the real beneficiaries remaining in the scheme and saving the government Rs 700 crore.
